CAIRO - 12 July 2018: Egypt and the rest of the Arab region will not witness a partial solar eclipse due to take place on Friday.

The solar eclipse will last for three hours and 25 minutes and will be observed in south Australia and the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the head of the National Research Institute Of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) said on Thursday.

On July 27, Egypt will witness a total lunar eclipse which will be seen in parts of South America, much of Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, Hatem Ouda said.
